High oleic sunflower oil is a real find for soap making from scratch. In terms of fatty acid composition, such oil is almost identical to olive oil, while it has an optimal price / quality ratio.
High oleic refined sunflower oil is well suited for making decorative soaps from scratch, pure white or colored, as it does not add any additional shade or smell to the finished product. As an additive, it gives creaminess to the foam, high caring properties to the soap, and the necessary plasticity to the soap mass at the manufacturing stage. The standard input to soap from scratch is from 30 to 70%.
Due to its stability, high oleic sunflower oil is convenient to use as a base for oil extracts (infusions) and a carrier base for other fatty and/or essential oils. A high percentage of oleic fatty acid will provide such a mixture with transport properties.
In cosmetic leave-in products, high-oleic sunflower oil should be used in a limited way, optimally up to 8-9% in the mono version, so as not to cause the effect of dry skin. This recommendation applies to any oils with a high percentage of oleic acid in the composition - avocado, olives, macadamia, sweet almonds and a number of others, which must be balanced with butters and oils of excellent fatty acid composition, as well as supplemented with emollients and individual components of the unsaponifiable fraction.
For washable products, the percentage of input can be increased, according to the recipe of one or another type of product (hydrophilic oil, tiles, oily gels for washing, hair masks) to the base amount of liquid oils.
