Rice bran wax is a natural product obtained from rice bran oil. Its properties are similar to candelilla and carnauba waxes, it has excellent skin compatibility and high stability. Suitable for vegan formulations as an alternative to beeswax. Creates light, sensorially pleasing textures.
Chemical composition: esters of aliphatic fatty acids (palmitic, behenic, lignoceric, etc.) with ceryl (C26), myricyl (C30) fatty alcohols (polycosanols). May contain squalene, phytosterols, phospholipids, tocopherols and tocotrienols, octocosanol, triacontanol.
The main action of rice bran wax is:
- moisture-retaining
- softening
- anti-inflammatory
- antioxidant
- sun protection
- capillary protective
Application in cosmetics:
- as the main structure-forming agent in lip balms; suitable for summer recipes because it has a high melting point; does not change the shade of the balm;
- in any solid foaming formulations - solid shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, body oil bars; can be used in soap from scratch;
- as an occlusive, stabilizing and thickening additive to cream; in protective winter creams and hand cream; suitable for daily formulations;
- as a basis for healing balms, a carrier of essential oils, CO2 extracts and other oil-soluble assets, with its own anti-inflammatory activity.
- as part of solid perfumes, decorative cosmetics (lipstick, mascara).
The standard dosage is 0.5-10%, but can be increased if necessary.
