AQUAXYL™ is a patented moisturizing complex and multifunctional cosmetic additive from the French company Seppic based on xylitol and its derivatives.
As you know, xylitol belongs to the group of organic osmolytes-osmoprotectors, along with glycerin, glycols and polyols, betaine, glycine, trehalose, inositol, taurine and other water-soluble low-molecular substances. This group of molecules is actively used by living cells to maintain water homeostasis and the integrity of the biological membrane by regulating the internal volume.
Xylitol esters, derived from water-binding plant sugars, are powerful stratum corneum restructuring agents.
Due to the ability to stimulate the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, in particular chondroitin sulfate, xylitol glucoside and anhydroxylitol are used not only in dermatology, but also in the treatment of arthritis.
The Aquaxil complex optimizes the work of natural NMF (natural moisturizing factor), preventing skin moisture loss by increasing the synthesis of ceramides, cholesterol, epidermal and dermal hyaluronic acid. It is important that Aquaxil increases the amount of transmembrane proteins aquaporins in the membranes of corneocytes, through which active transport of water into the cell occurs.
The visible effects of Aquaxil become noticeable within 8 hours from the start of its use; the skin becomes firmer and more elastic.
Tests on real people showed results in the long term: within 28 days, when applying a product with 3% Aquaxyl, small wrinkles were smoothed out in subjects, flaking of dry skin decreased by 25%, and skin microrelief was leveled by 30% compared to placebo.
The complex has a positive effect on skin with signs of acne. Normalizes the processes of keratinization of the epidermis, removes hyperkeratosis
Avaxil also has a moisturizing effect on the hair shaft, makes hair smooth and shiny, giving it a well-groomed appearance.
Hydrating the scalp, it prevents hair loss and the appearance of dandruff as a result of the aggressive effects of surfactants. Improves the sensory profile and tolerance of foaming detergents; stabilizes foam.
Aquaxyl is advisable to use to protect skin and hair from chemical pollutants and adverse climatic influences: various types of radiation, temperature changes.
Technically, Aquaxil is compatible with many cosmetic components. It does not cloud the recipe, is colorless and odorless, easily dissolves in water, and is stable even at high temperatures.
Can be included in the formulation at any stage of product manufacturing.
The recommended dosage level of Aquaxyl is within 3%. If necessary, you can increase up to 5%.
Potentiates the effect of glycerin by 30%, showing synergy with it.
Promotes the penetration of other active components into the stratum corneum.
Can act as a co-preservative, extending the shelf life of cosmetics.
It is not an irritant, so it can be used in formulations where contact with mucous membranes is possible.
