Sea salt (Sodium chloride, E 536) 3 mm 500 grams (1 PC.)
Particle size: 3mm. Coarser salt can be used as a base for bath salts by adding essential oils, base oil, dried flowers, and a drop of dye if desired.
Sodium chloride in cosmetics is nothing more than the well-known inorganic salt (also called table salt). In addition to the fact that table salt is widely used in homemade cosmetics, mainly in scrubs, it is also widespread in the cosmetics industry.
Sodium Chloride (table salt) is used to increase the viscosity and thickness of a cosmetic product. Most often added to shampoos, shower gels and facial washes.
Description: White crystalline substance with a salty taste. Dissolves in water. In cosmetics it is used as an antiseptic and an astringent component, in particular in lotions, bath foams, soaps, bath salts. It also serves as a regulator of viscosity and ionic activity of solutions. In high concentrations it can cause irritation to the skin and mucous membranes of the eyes.
Sodium chloride as an active ingredient copes well with the following tasks:
- sodium chloride contained in scrubs perfectly exfoliates the skin, cleanses it of dirt and dead cells, evens it out and stimulates regeneration;
- dries the skin, has mild astringent properties, which is useful for excessive sebum regulation;
- enhances the barrier function of the skin by strengthening the surface layers of the epidermis (therefore, salt peeling is not very suitable for preparing the skin to receive expensive cosmeceuticals with ultra-active ingredients);
- relieves minor inflammation, promotes healing of minor injuries;
- eliminates itching, including that caused by parasite bites.
Sodium chloride is used primarily as a binding agent in skin care products and sometimes in personal care products (forming a hypertonic or isotonic solution depending on the concentration). Table salt is widely found in cosmetics and personal care products. In particular, sodium chloride is used in mouth rinses and medicinal foot baths. It is added to shampoos, facial and body cleansers, bath products, styling products, as well as to decorative cosmetics formulas - foundations, foundations and powders.
