Laboratory plastic using polypropylene is a leader in use in laboratories due to its cost and properties. It can withstand temperatures up to 121°C, and dishes made from it are translucent.
Laboratory glassware made of polypropylene can withstand prolonged sterilization with gases and various chemical compounds such as formalin and standard. This polymer is quite light and durable, which is an important advantage in the production of tableware. Polypropylene is highly resistant to chemicals: high concentration acids, alkalis, alcohols and aldehydes. Lightness, ease of transportation and cleaning are some of the advantages of plastic laboratory glassware, as opposed to other types of glassware.
