Sodium tetraborate 5-aq. (borax)
Sodium tetraborate (borate, borax) is a powder in the form of crystals, highly soluble in water. Sodium borate has antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic properties, and is used in the chemical industry and cosmetology. It is a component of detergents, washing powders, and teeth whitening products.
Borax is widely used in cosmetology, especially when mixing bath bombs. The combination of borate and citric acid when lowered into water gives a bubbling effect that relieves tension and gives pleasant moments of relaxation. What's not a reason to buy borax and treat yourself?!
Percentage of input into cosmetics:
- creams, lotions, gels, shampoos – no more than 5% skin whitening – up to 20% emulsifying additives – up to 5% softening of rough areas of epidermal cells – up to 2.5%
Dissolves in water at 20 degrees, also soluble in glycerin and oil.
