Beta Glucan
Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide (high molecular weight carbohydrate), one of the building blocks in cells. Contained in cereals (oats, wheat) and mushrooms.
Beta-glucan is of great importance in cosmetics and medicine. In the 80s of the last century, research by scientists discovered the relationship between immunity and beta-glucan.
The significance of the latter lies in its ability to easily establish communication with cells of the immune system (macrophages).
- Appearance: Liquid with a mild aroma, pale cream color. Sediment is allowed that does not affect the quality of the product. Country of origin: Ukraine pH level: 6.03 Mass fraction of dry matter: 5% Temperature: no more than 40 °С Raw materials for production: oats, barley, mushrooms, yeast. Method of preparation: exposure to high temperature, extraction.
The principle of interaction is to “awaken” macrophage receptors thanks to beta-glucan. “Awakened” areas begin active work to eliminate dead cells, fight bacteria, stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, and promote the synthesis of elastin and collagen.
The combination of beta-glucan with hyaluronic acid in “anti-age” products is considered very successful and effective. We recommend buying beta-glucan especially for those who create products for age-related skin care.
Skin macrophages have long processes passing through all its layers. They reach the epidermis itself. This structure ensures deep penetration of the actives into the skin.
In the two thousandth year, chemical studies confirmed the positive effect of beta-glucan on skin condition. A general improvement in appearance, a decrease in the number of wrinkles, and the elimination of roughness were noted.
Cosmetic uses of beta glucan
Beta-glucan is an excellent enhancer, a conductor of assets into the skin. It is this property that has ensured its widespread use in medicine and cosmetics.
Beta-glucan triggers natural working processes in the skin. This is the case when the use of potent assets is not required. It is enough to establish existing “production” for the production of the necessary substances.
Beta-glucan is used alone or in combination with extracts. The skin will recover and improve its condition quickly enough.
Cosmetic properties of beta-glucan
- Healing
By helping the skin recover, beta-glucan simultaneously relieves inflammation from irritated areas and blocks the possible occurrence of infection. This makes quick healing of the skin possible. Beta-glucan is almost universal. It is used to treat wounds, cuts, all kinds of scratches and even burns.
- Cleansing
Beta-glucan is especially relevant for oily skin. Including in the fight against acne and in caring for problematic scalp. It successfully fights dandruff, bacteria and fungi of the skin.
If you have problem skin, we recommend buying beta-glucan and taking a two or three week course to care for your skin. An integrated approach will help to fully evaluate the properties of this asset.
- Moisturizing
Using beta-glucan for two weeks will increase skin hydration by 28%. It is enough to remember that beta-glucan activates the secretion of hyaluronic acid. It also serves as a natural barrier, preventing moisture loss.
- Rejuvenation
Penetrating into the layers of the dermis, stimulating the production of collagen, elastin beta-glucan helps smooth out wrinkles and restore skin turgor. Cell regeneration, strengthening of blood vessels, reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, visibly revitalizes the skin, returning it to a healthy, well-groomed appearance.
- Strengthening
Beta-clucan restores the hair structure, making it silky and shiny. According to studies, five to seven milliliters of leave-in conditioner (with 5% oat beta-glucan) increases hair strength by 21.68%.
- Protection
In sunscreen lines, beta-glucan helps protect the skin from dangerous UV radiation. On the first day, protection is 44% and reaches 72% within 48 hours.
In addition to protection, for example, oat beta-glucan reduces the symptoms of sunburn by 30% on the first day and by 50% within 2 days.
- Relieving irritation
Thanks to beta-glucan, skin irritation is reduced by 40% within 8 hours, and by more than 50% within 24 hours. This effect is ensured by the use of beta-glucan in the production of disinfectants (wet wipes), wound-healing dressings, and repellents (after insect bites).
Beta glucan is ideal:
- For “anti-age” care (moisturizers, masks, serums); For oily, problematic skin with acne and inflammation (cleansing stage in skin care, products with a mattifying effect, toners); For hair (rinse-off and leave-in group, shampoos, conditioners, masks, serums to restore hair structure, additional nutrition, fight dandruff); For the sun protection line (lotions and creams “before” and “after”); For men's cosmetics “before” and “after” shaving; For hygiene products (disinfecting wipes, repellents); For anti-stress cosmetics (as a component against puffiness applied under the eyes).
Input percentage: 1—5%
•1-3% for oily, problem skin, combating acne;
•2-4% hair care, sun protection series;
•3% “anti-age” (aging, fading skin);
•up to 5% regenerating, healing cosmetics.
For medical purposes, beta-glucan is found in ointments, suspensions and other preparations for the treatment of weakened immunity, oncology and diabetes.
In cosmetology and aesthetic medicine it is used for laser hair removal and peeling to accelerate skin healing.
Storage: in a dark, cool place, away from direct sunlight and strong heat.
Special instructions: not recommended if you are sensitive to glucose medications.
